Are you an experienced and passionate equine practitioner who is serious about excellence but ready for a change?
What if you could:
- Break the equine practitioner paradigm of a six-day work week and burning the candle at both ends?
- Live and practice in the high desert, mountain town of Bend, Oregon, one of the most beautiful parts of the country?
- Enjoy time outside of work with your family, or your partner, or your horse, or just doing whatever it is that feeds your soul outside of work while trusting your colleagues to competently cover cases in your absence?
- Live and play in this amazing place, and be part of a harmonious and collegial work culture dedicated to providing exceptional equine health care with a great staff and a workplace culture based around teamwork?
- Do one night of emergency duty per week with a four-day work week (Wednesday – Saturday; Saturday shift is 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. seeing urgent/ER cases only)?
We communicate as a group daily, trust, respect and support one another. Knowledge sharing and each individual doctor’s continued journey to strive for excellence and fulfillment in practice are key tenets for us, as are mentoring our externs and interns. We work hard to ensure the short and long-term health and happiness of all of our staff.
Be the change! You’d become part of a nine-doctor, two-intern primarily equine practice that offers equine primary and referral care both in-house and on an ambulatory basis, with a very well-equipped hospital and pretty small call radius. Our practice has been here for over 25 years, and we have earned a reputation for excellent care and professionalism and collegial relationships with our fabulous referring veterinarians. We have a weeknight emergency veterinarian who covers emergencies Monday through Thursday nights – I know, how lucky are we?! Check out what our clients have to say about us on our Google reviews! (And by the way, we have such incredible clients too.)
If you are an experienced equine practitioner who has a passion and talent for high quality general practice, we’d love to hear from you. We’d ideally prefer someone with advanced training/experience in emergency care and internal medicine; an ECC diplomat would be an excellent fit, as would an ACVIM diplomate who has the bandwidth for providing emergency/urgent care including lacerations and colics and enjoys working as a team.
We are family friendly; many of our veterinarians have young children and we understand the challenges! We are seeking to continually improve the quality of life and practice satisfaction of our current team, as well as yours, and ideally want someone who’d appreciate an alternative schedule including a four-day work week (Wednesday through Saturday). This gives you the opportunity to enjoy what Bend has to offer when the rivers and trails are empty and the lift lines are short!
If all of this sounds interesting, we’d love to hear from you. Please e-mail a CV to wendykrebsdvm@bendequine.com
