Intern Veterinarian
Dr. Emily Ward earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island, in Canada. During school, she was a Dean’s Honor List student and held numerous leadership roles, including serving as president of her Student American Veterinary Medicine Association chapter. Her hands-on experience spans a wide range of clinical settings—from equine hospitals and specialty rotations to remote field medicine through the Chinook Project in Northern Labrador.
Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Ward completed a Bachelor of Science in animal science and management with an equine emphasis at the University of California, Davis. Her early career as an emergency medical technician further strengthened her ability to stay calm under pressure and prioritize patient safety.
Dr. Ward completed multiple externships at leading equine hospitals across North America, including her recent time with us at Bend Equine, where she gained experience in diagnostics, sports medicine, emergency care, and advanced surgical procedures.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Ward enjoys whitewater rafting, mountain biking, camping, and spending time outdoors.
