Intern Veterinarian

A native of Colorado, Dr. Dugan grew up riding in Western drill teams and working with his family’s Mustangs. Although he’s always been involved with horses, he came into the veterinary profession through a less traditional route. He originally studied and worked in engineering before pivoting to a career in equine veterinary medicine. While attending veterinary school at Colorado State University, Dr. Dugan worked as a veterinary assistant and was active in the Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners. He also completed externships at Montana Equine, Idaho Equine Hospital, Tennessee Equine Hospital, and many more. Dr. Dugan is joined in Central Oregon by his partner, Lisa, their Border Collie-Husky mix, Willow, and the couple’s four horses—three Mustangs and a Quarter Horse. In his free time Dr. Dugan enjoys hiking, cycling, trail riding, and learning to ride English. He hopes to take up eventing.
